MPACT Memphis
partners with Executive Leadership International
and Leadership Memphis in Professional Development
Program (PDP) Series
MPACT Memphis, an organization dedicated to inspiring,
engaging, and empowering a new generation of Memphians
to make their city a better place, has
partnered with Executive Leadership International
and Leadership Memphis to deliver Professional Development
Program (PDP) sessions for the fall of 2006 and
spring of 2007. The PDP will streamline an already
comprehensive agenda toward involving leaders in
their communities.
“We are so pleased to partner with eli and
MPACT Memphis in offering the PDP series, which
will further engage not only our own Leadership
Memphis alumni, but current and emerging leaders
in the Mid-South area by providing them with a roadmap
on how to specifically buy-in to their respective
community roles,” said David Williams, president
and CEO of Leadership Memphis. “The LM Executive
Program involves nine-months of commitment and is
available to a limited number of people, while these
half-day workshops create an alternative for a larger
group of people to learn about community leadership
a specific topic at a time. The more people who
understand the ‘how to’ dynamics of
effective community leadership, boards and commissions
as well as political engagement, the better off
Memphis will be. This is also a vital step in extending
our programmatic goals to increase innovative community
leadership, stimulate civic engagement and advance
inclusivity.”
MPACT Memphis is pleased to participate in shaping
this dynamic program and offering it to our members,”
said Chris Allen, executive director of MPACT Memphis.
“The responsive, issues-based format of the
PDP sessions is consistent with our mission to engage
emerging leaders in a network actively involved
in addressing community issues.”
“We are excited about bringing eli’s
collaborative environment and proven solutions to
the community through this dynamic program,”
said Brad Federman, executive director of eli and
president of performancepoint, llc. “We will
utilize proven models for accelerating personal
and organizational growth to help participants evaluate
their personal commitment to change; identify key
areas in which they want to create impact; and develop
specific strategies and contacts necessary to fulfill
this commitment.”
The PDP sessions were created after a careful review
of recommendations by LM alumni and other community
leaders. The 2006-2007 PDP calendar reflects priorities
that emphasize ‘how to’ information,
networking opportunities and high-profile, guest
faculty personal case histories. PDP session topics
